Visine Classic Hydro causes the fine blood vessels in the conjunctiva of the eye to constrict, thereby reducing swelling of the irritated mucous membranes of the conjunctival sac. The effect occurs immediately after instillation into the eye and visual comfort is improved for 12 hours.

Visine Classic Hydro is used for the temporary (< 72 hours) symptomatic treatment of mild eye irritation. Irritation can be caused by e.g. smoke, dust, chlorinated water in swimming pools, light, draughts, cosmetics or contact lenses. On the recommendation of a doctor, pharmacist or chemist, this preparation can also be used to relieve excessive lacrimation caused by allergic reactions.
