Pennsaid contains the active ingredient diclofenac, which belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs). Pennsaid has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties and has a soothing, cooling effect thanks to its aqueous-alcoholic base.

Pennsaid is used for the local treatment of pain, inflammation and swelling in sports and accident injuries such as sprains, bruises, strains and back pain caused by sports and accidents.

Pennsaid can also be used for the short-term local treatment of acute pain in osteoarthritis of small and medium-sized joints close to the skin, e.g. finger joints or knees. Additional data are available for specific use on the knee.

Pennsaid is intended for use in adults and children aged 12 years and over.
