Benzac is an acne remedy for external use. It contains benzoyl peroxide as an active ingredient, which plays an important role in the external treatment of acne. Benzoyl peroxide has an antimicrobial effect against bacteria, in particular Propionibacterium acnes, which plays a major role in acne. In addition, benzoyl peroxide inhibits the formation of blackheads (comedones) and leads to a reduction and shrinkage of keratinising cells ("peeling effect"). This results in fewer pimples and pustules.
Benzac 5 is suitable for the treatment of mild to moderate forms of acne.
